Farewell to Surgery!
Posted on 2010-08-03 21:48:38
We are very sad to recently lose our original surgery and surgery prep/radiology area (back wing of the building). The demolition was interesting as the long clawed arm of the demolition excavator tore into the building as if it were straw. Aside from swarm of angry bees attacking the excavator and a collapsing chimney, all went well. Luckily, NorthPaws’ employees were able to “confetti” the condemned areas with their farewells and last wishes! Even though they are temporarily relocated, We will miss these areas as thousands of animals were diagnosed and treated in those rooms in the short time they existed. On a brighter side, today, the foundations living within the areas isolated by the shoring were poured using huge tube arches! The forms come off next week and Cottage ave will once again be safe. Coming soon, Geothermal Wells and going green! Thanks for following. Mark

Construction Has Begun, We're Building a Better NorthPaws!
Posted on 2010-07-13 04:27:38
After much planning, much time and many hurdles our dream of improving NorthPaws has finally begun. The first two tasks which are currently underway are to install the underground drainage system and removal of the asbestos siding. Adler Bros. has dug an enormous hole in our parking lot making it look like a bit like we were struck by a meteor. The would be aliens will soon be displaced with a complex array funny yellow drainage devices, crushed stone, and parking lot. As for the remediation, I feel for the men removing the asbestos siding. They are working very hard, in very hot weather, in very safe Tyvek suits. They are doing a great job with minimal disruption turning a blue NorthPaws into a brown NorthPaws. Next week we are planning to be drilling eight 300ft wells to power our Geothermal heating and AC system!
I greatly apologize for any inconvenience to our clients and employees (especially with parking). Bowerman Associates, our General Contractor, is working hard to minimize the disruptions. Stay tuned for more pictures and updates! Mark Paradise, VMD
